Pine’s Demario Carter nearly sets the District 8-2A long jump record Tuesday at the St. Scholastica Academy Sports Complex, going 22-7. The mark is 22-8, which St. Thomas Aquinas’ Cory Roberts set in 2006. Carter won the long jump and qualified for regionals, which take place Tuesday at SSA. Carter also advanced in the 100-meters and 4×100 relay.
