FHS comes up short against Lakeshore

Franklinton’s Lady Demons lost another close game Thursday, falling 9-7 to Lakeshore at home.

FHS (10-14), 4-3 in district, is on a six-game losing streak. Despite the losses, the Lady Demons have been in most of the games. Four of the losses have been by three runs or less, and the last three were decided by one or two runs.

Darrien Dykes led FHS offensively with three hits, including a double. Laken Spears singled twice and drove in a run, while Brittney Burch recorded two hits. Baylee Mixon and Khristian Capo both singled and posted an RBI. Austen Felder finished 1-for-1 with three walks, and Hailey Sanford logged one hit.

Pine falls to Springfield

Pine’s Lady Raiders suffered a 12-2 setback to Springfield in five innings on the road Thursday.

Pine (4-10) is 1-8 in district.

Shay Seals tripled and stole home in the first. Paris Kennedy had a double for the Lady Raiders.
