Varnado loses 2 at Indy

Varnado’s Wildcats were swept by Independence, 8-5 and 12-0, in a doubleheader on the road Saturday.

Isaiah Alexander went 3-for-4 for the Wildcats in the opener. Nick Darden, Dominique Harry and LeShawn Woodson all recorded a hit.

In the second contest, Varnado was limited to just one hit with Alexander recording the knock.

Pine falls to Doyle in district play

Pine suffered a 7-1 loss to Doyle in district action at home Saturday afternoon.

Pine (7-8) was 1-2 at press time.

The Raiders had just one hit with Devin Phillips posting a single.

Bogalusa tops Varnado

Bogalusa’s Lumberjacks defeated the Varnado Wildcats, 5-3, in Friday’s home game.

Ashed Levi and Elijah Hatcher both went 2-for-5 for the Lumberjacks.

Hatcher was the winning pitcher.

He allowed two runs over five innings. Trevion Harris threw the final two frames for the save.

Bowling Green falls to Centreville

Bowling Green lost both ends of a doubleheader Friday, 6-1 and 7-1, against Centreville at home.

The Bucs had just four hits in the two games.

James Lavigne tallied a hit with an RBI in the opener, while Thomas LeBlanc posted the other hit and scored the run.

The second contest had Devin Smith going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Russ Smith recorded a hit.
