Pine girls beat French Settlement
The Pine Lady Raiders improved to 2-0 in District 8-2A play Monday, winning at French Settlement, 52-49.
Pine rallied back from a 10-point halftime deficit and ended the third quarter down by two, then the lead went back and forth in the final period. Pine had a one-point lead with a minute left, then French Settlement fouled Bre Brown in hopes of getting the ball back for a final shot.
But Brown, who scored 32 in the game, hit both free throws to ice the win.
“That was two big road games that were very important for us to win,” said coach Tate Kennedy, also referring to Friday’s victory at Northlake Christian.
Brown was joined in double figures by Shay Seals with 10 points.
