Doris B. Simmons, 81 a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at her son’s residence in Covington. She was born April 6, 1931.

She is survived by four children, Wilford O’Neal (Jane) Simmons Jr. of Covington, Bonnie (Terry) Ruiz of White Sand, Miss., Steven “Rusty” (Caroline) Simmons of Rusk, Texas and Craig (Twila) Simmons of Franklinton; eight grandchildren, Neal Simmons, Penny Perrett Johanson, Steven and Cassie Simmons, Kaylan (Tori), Logan and Jacob and Austin Simmons; four great-grandchildren, Justin Patrick Johanson, Rex Alan Perrett, Faylinn Simmons and Kobyn Simmons; numerous nieces, Connie Breland Broadwater, Becky Breland Ranney, Brenda Bynum, Ann Simmons Creel, Elizabeth Constance Simmons (Donnie Smith); and numerous nephews, Bill Broadwater, Ricky Simmons, Perry Hancock, William “Billy” Simmons and John Albert Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford O’Neal “Buster” Simmons Sr.; two grandsons, Terry Lynn and Alan Lane Perrett; her mother, Altie Rusk; and her father, P. C. Bush.

There will be graveside service at 1 p.m. at Hillview Memorial Gardens on Saturday, Dec. 15, with Rev. Bill Broadwater officiating.
