Franklinton scored on their opening possession but were forced to restrain G.W. Carver in a 17-12 victory in the Washington Parish Jamboree on Friday night at Demon Stadium.

“I was pleased with the effort but obviously, we have to get better at some things because they tested us with their athleticism,” Franklinton coach Shane Smith said. “We got to get healthy and offensively, we have to eliminate the turnovers.”

The Rams outgained Franklinton 170-137 in total yardage with 146 of it coming through the air and ran 27 plays to the Demons’ 22.

Ron Robinson rushed for 24 yards and two touchdowns on four attempts for Franklinton and Renaz Wilson added 48 yards on five attempts. Austin Armand completed 5-for-11 passes for 44 yards and Donovan Alonzo had three receptions for 20 yards.

Robinson capped the Demons’ opening 9-play, 79-yard drive with a 3-yard run. James Magee’s 13-yard run opened the series before Armand’s 9-yard completions to Kendrick Brumfield and Alonzo. Alex Herbert’s extra point kick put Franklinton ahead 7-0 with 8:28 left in the first half.
