Mt. Hermon’s Hunter Hale won his age division at the Louisiana Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship at Links on the Bayou in Alexandria on July 12.

The course played to a par of 72 at approximately 6,750 yards.

Hale won the age 15-17 bracket with a two-round score of 161 to defeat Troy Leger of Mandeville who scored a 163.

In round one, Hale shot a 79 with a birdie on the fifth hole and par on 12 holes. In the second round, Hale shot birdies on the fifth and 11th holes and par on nine holes.

The 2013 LGA Junior Amateur Championship will be held at TPC Louisiana in New Orleans.

Hale is coached by Lynn Kelly and is the son of Delan and Paula Hale.
