She was born on Aug. 26, 1930, in Bastrop, to Eunice and Dennis Dykes. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married the love of her life, Carl “Sammy” Lively.

Wynell was a longtime, dedicated member of Union Avenue Baptist Church, where she raised her children, sang in the choir and participated in many church activities. She truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; she loved camping with lifelong friends, decorating, cooking for her family, and working in her yard and flowerbeds. After a long career with First State Bank, she went on to enjoy retirement. She lived her life in every respect as a true lady.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Heidi Lively Rose, Jonathan Megehee, Dustin Lively (Melanie), Stacey Lively Baughman (Blake) and Mallory Danna Adams (Sonny); as well as seven great-grandchildren, Brayden Rose, Mason Rose, Brycen Baughman, Savannah, Bella and Hudson Megehee and Danyan Lively.

Wynell was preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings, Dennis Dykes Jr., Marlene Duncan, Evelyn Sumrall and Clyde Dykes; her beloved husband, Sammy; two grandchildren, Eric Mann and Joshua Lively; her son-in-law, Lester “Bugs” Megehee; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Barker Lively.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, March 19, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bruce Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
