Two families welcomed the first babies of the year at area hospitals.

Above at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa, the first baby of 2021 was Elliana Kathryn Creel. She is the daughter of proud parents, Joseph and Jessica Creel.

Below, St. Tammany Health System in Covington announced that the first baby born at its hospital in 2021was Levi Jacob Thomas. Proud parents Meaghan and Jacob Thomas of Franklinton welcomed the baby boy into the world at 10:14 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1.
