On Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, Marie Carlisle Kimble Borde, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at age 99.
Marie was born on Aug. 12, 1921 in Houston, Texas, but relocated to her hometown of Bogalusa, La. at a very young age. She attended Bogalusa High School and retired from South Central Bell.
Marie loved to travel and spend time with her beloved family and kept a daily journal of life experiences. She enjoyed all sports and could be seen on the sidelines cheering for her sons, grandsons and great-grandsons while playing football and baseball. As an avid fan of LSU and the New Orleans Saints she would get so nervous during their games that she would run outside and attempt to watch the television through her picture window.
Marie loved to dance, and at the age of 96, she danced the night away at the wedding reception of her great-granddaughter Jenny Adams Norman. Well known in Bogalusa as a genuinely loving, caring and happy person, she put a smile on everyone’s face and will surely be missed.
As the oldest surviving child of John A. and Lizzie Carlisle, Marie became the matriarch of the family, always providing unconditional love and unwavering support.
Survived by her daughter, Linda Kimble Adams (Don) and sons Wilson “Buddy” Kimble (Judy), John Kimble (Jeanne) and Gary Kimble (Lita). Grandchildren; Scott Adams, Donnie Adams, Lori Colapietro, Monica Stroud, Brad Kimble, Dawn Morgan, Jeff Kimble and Toby Kimble; many great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husbands Wilson Ned Kimble and Don Borde, parents John A. and Lizzie Carlisle. Sisters; Ethel Carlisle, Loys Applewhite, Wilena Wascom, Ramona Carlisle, Donna Keaton Richardson, Sylvia Galloway Lorio and brother John A. “Bub” Carlisle, Jr. Grandchildren; Stefanie Adams Montenegro and Jamie Adams.
Our family will always be grateful for the love and care that she provided to our beloved Terah Keaton, her niece. We will forever celebrate her life, honor and cherish her memory.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020. Visitation from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Eric Williams, interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
