Rutheline Blake, 101, a former resident of Varnado, passed away on June 11, 2020, at Aston Court in McComb, Miss. She was born in Bogalusa on July 22, 1918.
Rutheline is survived by two grandsons, G.C. “Three” Blake III, and James (Terri) Blake; a granddaughter, Anna (Brad) Platt; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Blake Johnson; great-grandchildren, Dallion Blake, Drew (Brandi) Blake, Colby Blake, Elizabeth Platt, Rachel Platt, and Madelynn Platt; a brother, David W. “Buddy” Anderson Jr.; and a soon to be great-great-granddaughter, Brie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Clinton Blake Sr.; a son, George Clinton Blake Jr.; a sister, Bernice Samford; and her parents, I. Z. Forbes and Myrtle Mitchell Anderson.
A graveside service was held to celebrate her life at Seal Cemetery in Varnado on Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m.
