Mrs. Hattie Mae Weary was born Nov. 26, 1939, to the late Margaret Knowles and March Powell in Utica, Miss., and departed from her earthly home to her home in glory at the age of 80 on Friday, May 8, 2020, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her daughter, Cheryl (R.C.) Armstrong of Bogalusa; two grandchildren, Makia Armstrong of Lumberton, Miss., and Lerar (Charis) Armstrong of Dulfries, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine Peters and Jaslyn Armstrong of Lumberton, and Tanner Armstrong of Dulfries; god-son, Kelton (Jameka) Johnson of Bogalusa; a god-daughter, Cassandra Johnson of Omaha, Neb.; niece, Norma Jean Fields; and a nephew, Sulamon Daude.
She was preceded in death by her father, March Powell; mother, Margaret Knowles; husband, Johnny Weary; two brothers, James Fields Sr. and Willie Jene Knowles; raised by Mary Stephney of Bogalusa at the death of mother (Margaret Knowles).
A graveside service will be Saturday, May 16, at Bogalusa Cemetery at 11 a.m., with Minister Terri Ruiz Price and Minister Anthony Price officiating. Interment will be in Bogalusa Cemetery.
