Cathryn Kay Willis, born on Aug. 6, 1944, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, at the age of 75. She was a native and long-time resident of Bogalusa, where she was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Barrett (Michelle) Willis of Covington, and Chol (Lacretia) Willis of Bogalusa; her grandchildren, Grace Willis, Myriam Willis, Abigayle Willis and Rachael Willis; and one great-grandchild, Kardelen Willis. She is also survived by her lifelong friend and sister at heart, Rose Marie Haley; and her daughters, Trula Remson and Leigh Anne Parden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Lee Willis; her parents, James and Willie Evelyn Mitchell; her grandparents who raised her, Charles and Bernice Ashford; and her brother, Bud Mitchell.

Mrs. Willis’ arrangements were entrusted to Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory. Services celebrating her life were held on Friday, Jan. 17, at Palestine Baptist Church in Bogalusa. Visitation began at 9 a.m. and continued until the funeral service began at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fred Brumfield officiated. Interment followed at Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery.
