On Dec. 7, several colleges with players who attended high school in Washington Parish, have big games.
Six former players play for schools competing for either conference titles or the opportunity to play in the next round of the playoffs.
The SEC Championship game between LSU and Georgia at 3 p.m. has Franklinton graduate Adrian Magee and Pine grad Derrick Dillon competing. Both are redshirt seniors at LSU.
Varnado graduate Andre Jones is a linebacker for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, which is playing for the Sunbelt Conference title against Appalachian State University at 11 a.m.
Jones is a redshirt sophomore.
At Southeastern Louisiana University, Franklinton graduate Damien Dawson and Pine graduate Brendon Kelley play for the Lions, who are heading to Montana for the second round of the playoffs at 2 p.m.
Dawson is a redshirt junior, while Kelley is a redshirt freshman.
And at Nicholls State University, Franklinton graduate P.J. Burkhalter and the Colonels will face North Dakota State University in the second round of the playoffs at 2:30 p.m.
Burkhalter is a redshirt junior.
There are plenty of big college football games today and we wish the players and their teams plenty of success and hope they bring home the wins.
