Ora Bell Garrett Monday was born to Mr. Eddie Garrett, Sr. and Beatrice Morris Garrett on Nov. 14, 1936, in Franklinton.

She departed her life peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, at 6:20 p.m. at home with Annis Monday, in Maryland.

She leaves two sons, Johnny Will (Freddie Mae) Monday of Clarksville, Tenn., Tony Lawrence Monday of Lusby, Md.; three daughters, Deena M. Pierce of Franklinton, Myra Isatha Monday (Develand Sr.) Campbell, Annis Yodra Monday, both of Lusby; four brothers, Edward Brock of Baltimore, Md., Grady Mingo and Wilie (Versey) Mingo, both of Franklinton, and Tommy Mingo of California; one sister, Lucy (Johnny) McVay of North Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother-in-law, Donald Ray (Janie) Monday of Poplarville, Miss.; two sisters-in-law, Florida Garrett of Slidell, and Joyce Garrett of New Orleans; six grandchildren, Nikia, Kaila, Develand II, Dustin, Dartuna and Michael; 13 great-grandchildren; one big sister, Myra Lucille Bickham; best friends, Sister Nellie Mae Lundy, Sister Christine Taylor, Sister Viola Foote, Sister Beuna Weems, Sister Elizabeth White-Johnson, Sister Rosa Dean Brock; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Alberta Monday; two brothers, Eddie D. Garrett and Roy B. Garrett; one son-in-law, Wendell (Husky) Pierce; and one grandson, Dexter Swein Campbell.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Norwert Hills Jr., pastor, officiating.
