Ernest “Joe” J. Taylor passed away at his residence in Bogalusa on the morning of Oct. 7, 2019, at the age of 76. He was born in Newport News, Va., on Jan. 13, 1943.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dianna Taylor; his daughters, Tristan Lynn Taylor and Cari Ann (Kelly) Slade; his step-children, John Wetzel, Asa Wetzel, and Jennifer (Jonathan) Gulban; two brothers, Larry William (Dixie) Taylor and Patric Andrew (Michelle) Taylor; and his sister, Gwendolyn Sue Taylor. He was also loved by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ernest Taylor and Ruby Jean Greene Taylor; and son, Jeffrey Taylor.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Bogalusa.
