Barbara Ann Sweeney, 75, a resident of Picayune, Miss., passed away on June 30, 2019, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. She was born in Lumberton, Miss., on Oct. 24, 1943. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Picayune.

She is survived by her close friend and sister, Christine Depew; her caregivers, Terry and Patricia Shaw; and numerous cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie R. and Essie Ethel Ritchie Sweeney; and her brother, Charles Edward Sweeney.

Services will be held Saturday, July 6, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. and remaining open until the funeral at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. The Rev. Jarod Sauceds will officiate and interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a children’s home of your choice or any children’s charity.
