Local teams performed well at 7-on-7

Last Friday and Saturday’s 7-on-7 at Lakeshore High School gave teams an opportunity to get some good work done while being able to compete against different schools.
Two local teams competed in Bowling Green and Franklinton.
7-on-7s allow teams to work on their passing games, route running and defensive coverages.
At Lakeshore, teams played five pool play games before the tournament went into single-elimination bracket play. Teams were seeded by record.
Bowling Green and Franklinton lost close games in bracket play.
The Buccaneers went 5-0 during pool play and then had bye in the first round of bracket play. The Buccaneers went 1-1 in bracket play with a 20-2 win over Chalmette and an 18-15 loss to Chalmette.
Franklinton went 3-2 in pool play. The Demons defeated Sulphur, 35-14, in the first round of bracket play before being defeated, 12-11, against Covington.
Football season will be here before you know it and we wish all of our local teams plenty of success this year.
