This week features a pair of great opportunities for children to compete and learn more about different sports.
In Franklinton, the Washington Parish Golf League begins on Monday, which is open to any Washington Parish resident who is between ages 10 and 18.
The league features four tournaments that will take place June 3 and 17, and July 8 and 22. Awards are given to the top three from each age group after the tournaments and there is an overall award after the final tournament.
The cost is $10 to $20 per tourney, based on the child’s age, and that cost includes their range balls.
Also, Millsaps College golf coach Andrew MacBean will be doing free clinics after the tournaments.
All tournaments are at the Franklinton Golf Club.
In Bogalusa, the “Share the Rock” Basketball Camp will be taking place at the YMCA in Bogalusa. The clinic runs from Monday through Wednesday.
It costs $30 per participant and runs from 8 a.m. until noon each day.
