Ruby ‘Jean’ Stogner

Ruby “Jean” Hollingsworth Stogner, born in the Mississippi Delta and a resident of Bogalusa, died Saturday evening, Jan. 12, 2019, at her residence at the age of 81. She was born on May 10, 1937. She was a member of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church of Bogalusa.

She is survived by her loving children, Rhonda Stogner Stilen, Sondra Stogner Hodges, Danny (Anita) Hodges Stogner, Joe (Shelia) Passman Stogner, Donice Stogner Miller, Tim and Annette Stogner; special brother-in-law, Johnny (Lisa) Stogner; and special friend, Donna Carroll. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Doneis Stogner; father, Jim W. Hollingsworth; mother, Ruby Monk Hollingsworth; sister, Albertine Walker and Oscar Walker; brothers, Don Hollingsworth, Jack Hollingsworth and wife Patricia, James Alton Hollingsworth Sr. and wife Lucile Overstreet, and Barto Hollingsworth and wife Beth New; two infant brothers; and two sons-in-law, Don Stilen and Randy Hodges.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Lassley Sr. and the Rev. Mike Partin officiating. Interment followed in the Seal Cemetery in Varnado.

A visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday evening, Jan. 14, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 2 p.m.
