Harbert Irvine

Harbert L. Irvine passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at his residence in Angie, at the age of 84. He was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Bogalusa.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and U.S. Army, and he retired from Rayburn Correctional Center. He was a member of the Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Winnie M. Irvine of Varnado; his children, Joel (Diana) Irvine of Folsom, Calif., Stephen (Toni) Irvine of Marshal, Texas, Sonia Irvine Woodward of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Tim Irvine and his fiancé Caroline Bolton of Meridian, Miss.; two sisters, Ethel (Harvey) Seiler of San Antonio, Texas, and Daisey Knight of Bogalusa; six grandchildren, Mary Beth Irvine, Christopher (Joy) Irvine, Blake (Amber) Woodward, Colby Woodward, Aspen Irvine, Cassidy Irvine; great-grandson, Alexander Irvine; and great-grandson on his way, Austin Nicholos Harbert Irvine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Minnie Irvine; and his four brothers, Harlan Irvine, Danny Irvine, David Irvine, and Calvin Irvine Sr.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, Dec. 27, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, and friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Patrick Magee will officiate the service and interment will follow in Seal Cemetery.
