It’s just about that time of the year again. The Washington Parish Free Fair will be returning next week, opening Tuesday, Oct. 16, and continuing through Saturday, Oct. 20, at the fairgrounds in Franklinton.

There are a lot of things to see and do, and we know that nearly everyone in our community has been looking forward to this event for a long time. However, it’s important to keep safety in mind and not let a bad experience ruin the fun.

If you look inside today’s paper, you’ll find our massive 60-page special section all about the fair, and on Page 13 of that section, you’ll find safety tips from Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal. We encourage everyone to read and follow those tips.
