We are just a couple of weeks from the Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival.

The event will feature great music throughout and some great events.

One of those events is the annual 5K race, which is running for the fifth year.

This year’s run/walk competition is set for Saturday, Sept. 29, in Cassidy Park.

The race is a great way to get a workout in, compete and enjoy more of the outdoors that we get to enjoy in Louisiana.

The cost is $25 and the age brackets this year are 8-under, 9-12, 13-15, 16-19 and then 10-year brackets after.

Check in on the day of the race is from 7 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. and the event gets under way at 8 a.m. You can learn more by visiting online at www.bogalusablues.com/5k.
