Volleyball began this week for three local high schools with one more starting in the upcoming week, football continued for the MAIS teams and began for the LHSAA schools and softball at Bowling Green School continued.
Three different local high school sports with a combined 11 varsity teams are currently in their season.
With high school under way, it is a great opportunity to support the student athletes and enjoy the different sports throughout the year.
Plenty of action takes place in the upcoming week.
Bowling Green softball hosts Brookhaven Academy on Thursday and goes to Wayne Academy on Saturday.
Franklinton, Varnado and Pine all have two volleyball matches with Bogalusa having one. Varnado is at home Tuesday to play Amite and then travels to Bogalusa on Thursday, as the Lady Jacks open their season. Franklinton is headed to Christ Episcopal on Tuesday and then travels to Pine on Thursday. Pine is on the road at Springfield on Tuesday.
Every local high school football game takes place Friday with three of the six teams playing in Washington Parish.
Pine hosts Varnado, Bowling Green School is at home going against Wayne Academy. For the road teams, Franklinton heads to Fontainebleau, Ben’s Ford Christian School is at Centreville Academy and Bogalusa is headed to Chalmette.
We wish all of the local teams good luck this season.
