High school football fans, you just spent your final Friday for a while without going to see football competition.

Starting this coming Friday, Aug. 3, fans will have the opportunity to see some type of football season competition — either scrimmages, jamborees or games — on each Friday, until everything culminates with state championships. The MAIS titles are decided in mid-November while the LHSAA championships are in early December.

Ben’s Ford Christian School will be heading to Brookhaven Academy to compete in a scrimmage on Aug. 3.

Ben’s Ford and Bowling Green are competing in a jamboree at Ben’s Ford the following week and both teams begin their regular seasons on Aug. 17.

The LHSAA teams are playing in scrimmages Aug. 16-17. The local schools will also compete in the Washington Parish Jamboree on Aug. 24, with the regular season kicking off the following week.
