It may seem hard to believe, but high school sports are once again right around the corner.

Bowling Green School’s softball team begins its season on Friday, with a road game against Brookhaven Academy.

The Lady Buccaneers, the only MAIS softball team in Washington Parish, is under the direction of first-year head coach David Hood Burris.

Last year, the Lady Buccaneers reached the South State Tournament before coming up short to Porter’s Chapel Academy, 5-4, in a game they trailed, 5-0.

Bowling Green begins this season with a pair of road games with the first one on Friday, July 27. The second is set for Monday, July 30, at Oak Forest Academy.

The 2018 opening home game takes place on Tuesday, July 31, against Presbyterian Christian School.
