Wednesday is July 4 and we have a major reason to celebrate.

It is the day we celebrate our independence.

For many, it is a day off of work and a chance to kick back and enjoy some down time.

But it is also a day to remember those fighting to help keep us safe.

Festivities throughout the parish will going on Wednesday to celebrate the holiday.

One of them is the Bogalusa Fourth of July Parade, which is sponsored American Legion Post 24. The event begins at 10 a.m. In addition, fireworks will start around 8:30 p.m., at the Bogalusa High School football stadium.

Be sure to support the local events and have fun doing so.
