It is a big day at Franklinton High School today, as fans have a chance to see three different sports and multiple local teams compete.
The biggest part of the day occurs tonight when Franklinton’s boys’ basketball team plays for the District 8-4A title against Salmen at home at 7 p.m.
The Demons trail Salmen by a game in the district race to the top and the teams have split the two games — each winning on their home floor.
Franklinton defeated Salmen at home in the first meeting on a buzzer beating shot by Raisean Hart. Salmen won the second game, 81-44.
The afternoon and into the evening features a baseball and softball jamboree at Franklinton, which gives fans a preview of their teams.
The baseball jamboree features five games — four varsity and one junior varsity— beginning at 2:45 p.m., and the final game is set for 6:45 p.m.
Contests are three innings and are set to begin every hour and features Bogalusa, Franklinton, Pine and Varnado.
Four games are set to take place in the softball jamboree, starting at 2:30 p.m.
Games are set to start every 75 minutes. The event features Franklinton, Mt. Hermon, Pine and Varnado.
It is a great opportunity to see three sports in the same day without having to go far to do so.
Good luck to the teams.
