Dear Editor,

I want to take a moment to personally thank every citizen for attending the community meeting held at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Your attendance surely shows the desire you have for a better community.

With law enforcement heading in the right direction now, the department is focusing on community relations to strengthen Bogalusa and create another line of defense against crime.

Collaboration between police and the community will make Bogalusa better and stronger and will allow the police department to find out what matters to people while rebuilding and engaging the community.

Last week alone, six individuals have been arrested for vehicle and residential burglaries where members of the community called in information to the police department. These arrests would not have happened without assistance from members of the community.

I look forward to working with each citizen in the future, to improve the quality of life for all citizens in Boglausa.
