Sister Edgie L. Morris Peters was born Nov. 14, 1929, to the late Herman Morris and Oudia Morris. Sister Peters was united in holy matrimony on Nov. 1, 1947, to the late Hollis Peters.

Sister Peters leaves to mourn five children, Willie (Iness) Peters of Angie, Helen Weary of Angie, Theresa Peters of Angie, Donice Owens of Angie, and Hollis Clayton Peters of Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Ella Rose Morris Guider of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Paul Morris of Franklinton, Delauri Morris and Anthony (Anita) Morris of Varnado; one daughter-in-law, Rosialean Peters of Angie; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two godchildren, Demetris (Lorenza) Rayford of Franklinton, and Brittney Cole of Angie; one play daughter, Loretta Pittman of Angie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sister Peters was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Morris and Oudia Morris; her husband, Hollis Peters; one son, Jessie E. Peters; one daughter, Linda D. Williams; one son-in-law, Charles Weary Sr.; two grandsons, John Neal Williams and Darrick Williams; four brothers and three sisters, Herman Morris Jr., Charles Morris, Eugene Morris, Terry Morris, Veola Smith, Olivia Sheridan and Octavis Pigott.

Sister Peters was a member of the Greater Center Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 26, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., and a family hour will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Greater Center Baptist Church, located at 29825 Highway 21 in Angie, with the Rev. Sidney Jones, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Wesley Ray Cemetery in Angie.
