Billy Gene Watley, 72, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. He was born on Aug. 10, 1945, in Natchitoches, and served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lynn Watley of Bogalusa; his daughter, Amy Watley of Bogalusa; his sister, Betty Lou (David) Christman of Winnfield; and grandchildren, J. Brandon Abshure, Victor Edward Miley, and Ava Elizabeth Catapano.

Billy is preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Lynette Watley; a brother, Willie Dub Watley; and a nephew, Philip Moses.

Services were Sunday, Jan. 21, at New Life Pentecostal Church with visitation starting at 11 a.m. and remaining open until the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Wesley Quave officiated and interment followed at the veterans’ plot in Ponemah Cemetery, with full military graveside rites performed by the American Legion Magic City Post #24.
