Keep the ‘4 P’s’ protected this winter

The recent unseasonably frigid temperatures call for extraordinary measures. The Daily News encourages everyone to check on the neighbors, especially the elderly. And do what you can to ensure that their needs are met. We don’t want anyone to suffer with the cold, or to worry about their water pipes freezing.

Also, keep your pets warm and snug, and if you hear a dog barking outside in the middle of the night, go to its owner and tell him or her that pet ownership comes with a responsibility to take care of their animals.

And plants are living, too, and they must be cared for. Plants should be kept warm as well.

The four P’s are people, pets, plants, and pipes. If you make sure they are all protected, you should be okay.
