Football teams hope to finish with wins

The four local LHSAA football teams close out the regular season tonight, as they try to improve their chances of reaching the playoffs or hosting a playoff game.

Varnado is looking to stay in the top five of the unofficial LHSAA Class 1A power rankings. The Wildcats, who are 5-3, are on the road, playing Mangham.

Pine is at home tonight, going against Pope John Paul II. Pine is looking to host a playoff game. The Raiders, who are 5-4, are 13th in the unofficial Class 2A LHSAA power rankings.

Bogalusa is attempting to improve its playoff seeding, as they host Archbishop Hannan. The Lumberjacks are 4-4 and enter the week as the No. 21 team in the Class 3A unofficial LHSAA power rankings.

Franklinton appears to have a win-and-you’re-in scenario tonight. The Demons are 2-7 and are 30th in the unofficial LHSAA Class 4A power rankings.
