Sherilyn Peters

The sweet Angel of Mercy moved in quietly on Oct. 30, 2017, and bore the spirit of Sherilyn Harry Peters in Bogalusa. She was born on Sept. 1, 1951, to the late Delois and Gertrude Harry Robinson.

She accepted Christ at an early age at Live Oak United Methodist Church and later in life joined Christway Ministries of Bogalusa, under the leadership of pastor Michael O’Ree. Sherilyn graduated with the class of 1970 at Wesley Ray High School.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Derrick (Dione) Peters of Angie, and Typolia (Tina) Peters of Bogalusa; her brothers, James (Gwen) Dillon of New Orleans, Reginald (Deidre) Robinson of New Orleans, DeLois Harry and Morris L. Jefferson of Angie, and Dionell (Allison) Young of Alexandria; her sisters, Denise (Beven) Robinson of Angie, and Demetris (Lorenzo) Rayford of Franklinton; two aunts, Pauline Torrence of Bogalusa and Earnestine Davis of Angie; her sister-in-law, Mechelle Sartin Robinson of Bogalusa; her grandchildren, Anyla Shorter, Jai’lyn and Jai’dyn Owens, and Nicholas and Nashira Winston of Bogalusa; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delois and Gertrude Harry Robinson; and three brothers, Jerome Robinson, Haven Lewis and Danny Robinson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Live Oak United Methodist church, located at 65701 Live Oak Road in Angie, from 10 a.m. until noon, followed by the funeral service at noon. The Rev. Terrence August, is church pastor, and pastor Michael O’Ree, will be eulogist, officiant.

Interment will be in the Live Oak Cemetery in Angie.
