Henrietta Hammond

The sweet Angel of Mercy moved in quietly on Oct. 28, 2017, and bore the spirit of Henrietta Hammond in Bogalusa. She was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Patterson, Miss., to the late Porter and Bessie Watson.
Henrietta leaves to cherish her memories: a beloved daughter, Debra (Lee) Henry of Bogalusa; 13 grandchildren, Cedric Hammond of Houston, Texas, Delvin Harry of Bogalusa, Akelah Butler of New Orleans, Kelli (Quincy) Robinson-Tugler of Denham Springs, Whitney Robinson of Crowley, Hailey Mims of Bogalusa, Lee Dell Stamps, Mack Stamps, Leroy Stamps, Clifton Stamps, Brenda Stamps and Adrienne Stamps, all of Port Gibson, Miss.; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Yarbrough of Waikiki, Ill.; two brothers, Will T. Wilson of Port Gibson, and Archie Wilson of Patterson, Miss.; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Porter Wilson; three children, Charles Hammond, Mozella Stamps and Henry James Mims; grandchildren, Melvin Hamlin and Bobby Stamps; three sisters, Ernestine Fields, Annie White and Ruby Reynolds; aunt, Fannie Dee; and a special cousin, Beverly Timmons.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at New Triumph Baptist Church, located at 801 Sullivan Drive in Bogalusa, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. E.L. Powell, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
