John Andrew Miller Sr., 85, of Poplarville, Miss., passed away at his daughter’s home in Cannelton, Ind., on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017. He was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Tylertown, Miss., to the late James and Fannie Miller.

He was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served in Korea. Upon returning home, J.A. was employed as an iron worker, and retired in 1990 after working on the Alaskan Pipeline.

J.A. loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fredda Miller; brothers, General G. Pete Breland and Jimmy Miller; brothers-in-law, Gary, Tim, Richard, William, and Charles Leslie; and sisters-in-law, Laura Lee Cobb and Josie Hartzog.

John is survived by his son, John A. Miller Jr. (Debbie) of Lewisport, Ky.; daughter, Dee Dee Perry (Jason) of Cannelton; grandchildren, Tyler Perry (Dustie), Cassie Vecchi (Dominic), Kayla Pickering (Chris), Scarlet Gibson (Brian), Jonathan Roberts (Sierra), Jared Roberts; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Josie Kinchens of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Margaret Galloway of Bogalusa; and several nieces and nephews.
