It’s football time again and tonight is a sneak preview of what’s coming up for two local teams, as Ben’s Ford Christian School and Bowling Green play in jamboree contests.
Both teams, who are part of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools, are competing in separate three-team jamborees tonight.
Ben’s Ford is hosting CHEF, Sylva-Bay Academy and New Orleans Home School tonight with action beginning at 7 p.m.
New Orleans Home School and Sylva Bay will kick off the jamboree, with Ben’s Ford going against CHEF in the second game.
The Silliman Jamboree begins at 7 p.m. Bowling Green will play in the first and third games against Silliman and Central Private, respectively.
The Ben’s Ford Jamboree has two 12-minute quarters, while the Silliman Jamboree features one 12-minute quarter per game.
The teams will play their regular season openers next Friday. Bowling Green faces Park Place Christian Academy while Ben’s Ford takes on New Orleans Home School. Both teams are at home.
The local schools in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association are competing in scrimmages next week. On Thursday, Franklinton and Varnado will be on the road against Live Oak and Independence, respectively.
The following day, Bogalusa hosts Bonnabel and Pine heads to Jewel Sumner.
The LHSAA schools play in jamborees in two weeks and their opening games are Sept. 1.
Support the local teams and we wish them good luck.
