One of the great things about sports are exciting games and players coming through in the clutch.

It’s about that moment that the team, fans and players won’t ever forget because it was such a big play.

For the Franklinton 12U All-Stars, they had that moment a couple of weeks ago in the USSSA World Series.

The team was trailing 4-3 going into the final at bat. Brady Smith doubled with one out. With two outs, that moment came. Bryson Thomas was up. He fouled off two pitches, so he had two strikes, two outs, tying run on base, winning run at the plate, down one. An out ends the game, a hit continues it and a homer wins it. He did the latter. He sent a pitch over the left field wall for a walk-off homer to win it.

It’s one of those moments players dream of. It’s one of those moments, kids simulate when playing against their friends. For Thomas and the Franklinton All-Stars, it came true.

They were crowned USSSA World Series Champions because of they persevered through a close championship game in comeback fashion.

Franklinton finished the season with a 15-1 record.

Congratulations to Franklinton on a great season and for winning the title.
