Lucille Simmons Smith, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on May 13, 2017, at The Guest House of Slidell. She was born in Lexie, Miss., on July 24, 1930.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Smith; her parents, Willie Leon Simmons Sr. and Mary Johnson Simmons; brothers, Willie Leon Simmons Jr. and R.B. Simmons; sisters, Bonnie Lou and Betty Joyce Simmons, Christine Sellier and Ruth Miller.

She is survived by her sons Greg (Connie) of Baton Rouge, Jeff (René) of Denham Springs, and Allen (Sandy) of Sevierville, Tenn., seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., with Rev. Keith Sheridan and Rev. Dennis Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
