Participate in Relay, Project Grad events

We invite you all to attend or to be a part of the Washington Parish Relay for Life from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at Goodyear Park in Bogalusa. It’s a project of the American Cancer Society, and is sponsored by Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. Sadly, there are few of us who have not been touched, directly or indirectly, by cancer.

The Relay is a family-friendly celebration of survival and memorial, complete with food, fun and games. And 2017 marks the inaugural year for the Cook-Off for a Cure, in which teams of cooks will whip up and present their best appetizers, entrees and desserts. It costs only $50 to sign up, and teams that would like to participate should call Michelle Goode at 985-516-0311 as soon as possible.

And while we’re advocating causes, we also ask everyone to do what they can to support Project Grad this year. We know everyone wants our graduating young folks to be safe and to have a memorable experience while they celebrate their accomplishments. Derrick Peters is president of that project this year. You can get additional information from him by calling 985-570-3534.
