Paul Mizell

Paul Kenneth Mizell, 66, of Enon, died at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at his home.

He had retired as a maintenance supervisor with the Southeast Louisiana Hospital. Paul was a member of Enon Baptist Church, and upon retiring, he spent a great deal of time mowing and maintaining the church and cemetery grounds, which he enjoyed doing. He would visit the Enon Quick-Stop each morning to grab a cup of coffee and “check on the local news.”

Paul loved deer hunting and spending time in the woods riding his ATVs. He enjoyed traveling on vacation and had visited the Rocky Mountains and Great Smoky Mountains often through the years. He had a special place in his heart for his pet chihuahua, “Sweet Pea.” Paul was a loving father and brother that cherished the time spent with his family.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Paul Brian Mizell Sr. and Deonna Mizell of Enon; daughter, Lisa Mizell Cooper and Ted Spencer of Enon; four grandchildren and spouses, Paul Brian “B.J.” Mizell Jr. and Lindsay Mizell, Justin Heath Gilmore and Adrian Gilmore, Drake Brannen Cooper, and Angel Alexis Cooper; two great-grandchildren, Everett Shepard Mizell and Braiden Howard Gilmore; an expected great-grandson, Blake Allen Gilmore; a sister, Shirley Mizell of Enon; brother and sister-in-law, Luther and Sherry Mizell of West Monroe; close friend, Elizabeth Gilly; and also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Mizell and Ruth Fussell Mizell; a brother, Frank Edward Mizell; and sisters, Barbara Mizell Allred and Carrie Mizell Thomas.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mizell Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be B.J. Mizell, Justin Gilmore, Drake Cooper, Heath Thomas, Keith Voth and Gary Mizell. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Mizell, Randy Bateman and Rawland Crowe.
