Healthy choices are good to see here

One of the aspects of a community that helps it attract residents and business is a high quality of life. In order to achieve that, citizens need opportunities to make healthy lifestyle choices.
That’s why we are so pleased to see the recent emphasis that has been placed on smart eating decisions. Bogalusa Heart Student and Our Lady of the Angels hospital is partnering with the nonprofit initiative Ochsner Eat Fit to bring nutritious and delicious food to Washington Parish through the “Eat Fit WP” program.
Restaurants who participate in the program will have special “Eat Fit” meal options marked on their menus, informing consumers about healthy choices. The program is expected to launch in March.
Also, on Saturday, April 1, Goodyear Park will host the first Bogalusa Farmers’ Market. This market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and offer a choice for local produce growers and other merchants to sell their goods. Fresh, natural ingredients are a key to healthy living, and this is a great thing for our community.
We hope that everyone will support these healthy-living initiatives.
