Margaret Burch

Margaret Ann Booty Burch, 61, a resident of Franklinton, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 7, 2016, at her home.

She was a retired English teacher at Franklinton High School, where she loved teaching her students. Margaret was an avid reader, worker of puzzles and never met a stranger. She enjoyed helping her family and friends in any way they needed.

Margaret was a woman of strong Christian faith and a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church near Amite. She had a very special place in her loving heart for each and every one of her family members, friends and beloved pets.

She is survived by: her husband of 34 years, Cecil A. Burch of Franklinton; daughter, Megan Elizabeth Burch of Franklinton; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Millie June Magee of Pine, Veda Pearl Guylette of Franklinton, and Sharon Aline Blakeman and Sid Blakeman of Harvey; brother, Emery Lavern Booty of Franklinton; and also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Martha Davis Booty Jenkins; father, James Emery Booty; and brother, James William Booty.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sammie Smith, the Rev. Charles Abbey and the Rev. Pete Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Faron Magee, Darron Magee, Clint Magee, Rocky Guylette, James Guylette and Dustin Larousse. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Beck, Joseph Lupo and Kelly Notariano.
