Vesey Richardson

Vesey J. Richardson passed away at his home on July 25, 2016, at the age of 81, surrounded by his loving family.

Vesey was born on Feb. 11, 1935, to the late Ogise and Mildred (Tootsie) Parker Richardson. A native of Bush and a graduate of Covington High School in 1953, he proudly served his country in the National Guard for four years and the Army for two years. He spent some time in Germany.

Vesey J., while being a member of Hebron Baptist Church most of his life, retired from the Gaylord Paper Company in Bogalusa after 44 years. He also served on the St. Tammany Parish Hospital board of directors for 24 years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia Sue Lee Richardson. He leaves behind one sister, Dianne Richardson; one brother, Wendell Richardson; nieces, Denise Ringer and Kaitlyn Davis; nephews, Shane Richardson, Brian, Brandon, and Brett Davis; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 27, at Hebron Baptist Church in Bush from 9 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. Chaplain Jeff Sims, the Rev. Bill Morris and the Rev. Nathan Johnson will officiate.
