Hardy Jenkins, 75, a resident of Varnado, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at the Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gladys Kuhn Jenkins; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Angela) Hillhouse and Mrs. Fred (Melissa) Rodgers; a son, Rev. Chad (Amy) Jenkins; nine grandchildren, Matt (Felicia) Hillhouse, Adam (Brandi) Hillhouse, Amber (Brandon) Hillhouse Talley, Aaron (Payton) Hillhouse, Allen Rodgers, Alexa, Caleb, Joseph and Lindsey Jenkins; six great-grandchildren, Mark, Raegan, Colby, Jax, and Connor Hillhouse, and Daylan Talley; and two sisters, Lolie King and Hester Hartfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manson Jenkins and Edith Holden Jenkins.

Visitation was at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Jenkins Memorial Cemetery, on M. Jenkins Road in Varnado. The Rev. Rusty Kuhn and Bro. Duane Ball will be officiating.
