Ilean Crain

Ilean Crain, 96, a resident of Franklinton, died early Sunday morning, July 3, 2016, at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton, who loved her Lord and church family. Ilean was formerly a dental assistant and the receptionist for many years at the X-Ray department of Riverside Medical Center. She was also annually involved with Mile Branch Settlement of the Washington Parish Free Fair.

She is survived by: her sister, Dorothy Guy of Angie; and also numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces which she thought of as her very own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, McCauley Crain and Luella Smith Crain; four sisters, Inez Crain, Bessie Crain, Doris Crain Fussell and Oma Crain; and five brothers, Edwin Crain, Ewell Crain, Delos Crain, Jessie Willard Crain and Hubert Crain.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dale Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the First Baptist Church of Franklinton Building Fund or the Acts 1:8 missions fund.
