Playing ‘race card’ at meeting isn’t helping

Recent discussion concerning the time limit for public participation at City Council meetings has me puzzled. The term “racism” has been attached to the decision reached.

The time limit has nothing to do with race. Regardless of which race you belong, you are bound by the time limit. Anyone wishing to speak longer than the allowed three minutes can call Bogalusa City Hall and ask to be placed on the agenda for the meeting. This would allow you the extra time.

The only “racism” I see is from those who count the council’s votes according to the color of their skin. Can’t we work together, instead of repeatedly crying racism?
