Eunice Marie Wood Burdeaux, 89 and a resident of Franklinton, died early Thursday morning June 16, 2016 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton and had retired from the Louisiana Department of Family Services. She enjoyed camping and working in her yard. Eunice loved spending time with her grandchildren and family but her true passion was riding horses and showing her beloved Tennessee Walking Horses. She is survived by two daughters and a son in law: Patsy S. and Pete Mellin of Pensacola Beach, Fl, Marie Bateman of Franklinton and son: Kevin Burdeaux of Breaux Bridge, La, two Granddaughters and a Spouse: Kaitlyn Burdeaux of Baton Rouge, Stacy Bateman, Buster and Todd Buster of Mandeville and two Great-grandchildren: Brandon Buster and Brooke Buster and a brother, David C. Wood of Franklinton.
Also, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Burdeaux, her son John Wilmer “Will” Burdeaux, parents Wilmer Jacob Wood and Philonia Miller Wood and recently by son in law Don Bateman.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday June 18 from 12 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Hezekiah Magee Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Guy, Tommy Guy, Andy Guy, Jerry Guy, Curt Guy, Junior Wood
