Billy Earl Bullock

Billy Earl Bullock was born to the late Luberta Norward Watts and Atlas Bullock in Prentiss, Miss., on Aug. 31, 1939. He was the fourth child of six siblings. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Halcyon Hospice House in Atlanta, Ga.

At a very early age in life he moved from Prentiss to New Orleans, where he met and married the love of his life, Josia Conerly. Together, they nurtured four children.

Into his adulthood, he worked various jobs, including a gas station attendant and heavy equipment operator for Boh Bros. Construction Company.

While visiting Mt. Hermon, he attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he later joined under the leadership of the Rev. Willard Vernon. Since that time he received guidance under the Rev. Johnny Causey Sr. and the Rev. Johnny Johnson Sr.

Billy was a dedicated, loyal, devoted husband and father. He loved to spend time with his family and close friends with good home cooked country food.

He leaves to cherish his memories: four children, Wanda (Ernest) McLaughlin of Cartersville, Ga.; Keith (Geniece) Bullock of New Orleans; Elynn Bullock of Houston, Texas, and JaJuan Bullock of Atlanta; one brother, Oscar L. (Vera) Bullock of Duarte, Calif.; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and closest friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luberta and Atlas; wife, Josia; four brothers; Victor, Edward, Austin Bullock and James Watts; and one sister, Ruby Bullock.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. George Butler, pastor.

Interment will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
