Vote on speaking limits was unfair

Dear Editor:

At the Bogalusa City Council meeting on Tuesday night, a resolution was introduced.

It was to change the public participation from three minutes to five minutes.

The resolution failed by a 4-3 vote. The four white council members voted “no.”

Why are they afraid to let the public speak?

During the council participation, the council members can speak as long as they want. Most speak at least 30 minutes.

What has happened to our freedom of speech?
